You’ve seen it before!  There’s that leader who talks a big game, wears the right suit, and uses all of the right buzzwords.  They look perfect for the situation until it comes time to deliver, and that’s when the façade comes crashing down.  Their form is spectacular, but their function simply doesn’t work.

True leadership isn’t measured by a flashy image or an impressive resume.  Being an actual leader is measured by your ability to actually do the work.  The people you are responsible for are relying on you to be as good as you say you are.  Anything short of that is a failure!

Do the hard stuff and ask yourself if you can be the leader you say you are.  Be honest with yourself!  If you’re really brave ask someone who works for you, but be prepared because they might say something that hurts your ego.  If you’re a leader who is only an inch deep and a mile wide, you need to change something.  Either become a leader with more substance or remove yourself!  Don’t be a Tuxedo With No Underwear!
